Alberto Jauregui

Blockchain Education Network
Director
Alberto began volunteering at the former College Cryptocurrency Network (CCN) as their social media guru, then played a crucial role in the rebranding phase to the Blockchain Education Network (BEN) as their new Director of Communications. He currently sits in the BEN organization as Director of Growth. During his undergraduate academic career, Alberto led a team of colleagues and researched cryptocurrencies and emerging technologies in relation to threat finance for the SOCOM J36 AML Unit under the Intelligence Program at the University of South Florida. Alberto created an automated newsbot, which shares blockchain related news as they are published, on twitter known as @CryptoJauregui to keep up with such a constantly evolving industry. He currently works as Chief Marketing Officer at a startup company called Raincube, which builds smart rainwater harvesting systems. He co-authored a whitepaper Internet of Rain, which outlines plans to add a layer of blockchain technology to the internet-connected raincatchment systems and issue our own decentralized digital token/currency. Alberto made an effort to seize every opportunity that presented itself. He applied to the International Baccalaureate (IB) program after completing middle school. After graduating from IB, he entered the University of South Florida (USF) with a total of 39 credits. He also earned a couple of scholarships, such as one from the Latino Scholarship Foundation, that eased the financial burden of attending college. During his undergraduate career, Alberto participated in the Student Innovation Incubator (SSI) as an entrepreneur-in-residence. He started his own company tidbit. It started with the novel idea of creating temporary QR code tattoos associated with bitcoin public key addresses. However, he pivoted to offering social media and cryptocurrency consulting services. Around the same time, he joined the Intelligence Program at USF to participate in researching cryptocurrencies and emerging technologies in relation to threat finance for the SOCOM J36 AML Unit. He presented his findings each year at the McDill Airforce Base SOCOM's headquarters and was invited to speak in the 5 Eyes Conference at James Madison University. He graduated with a BA in Psychology and a BA in Communications with a concentration in Public Advocacy. Alberto also spoke at StartUp Week 2016 on Blockchain and the music industry. Alberto recently graduated with an MA in Global Sustainability.
