Joe Laratro is the President and Founder of Tandem Interactive. Joe started Tandem Interactive in April 2006 to focus on the underserviced areas of online marketing. Tandem Interactive has made a name for themselves based completely off of referrals and showing return for well-known franchises. Tandem is a boutique-style agency that provides SEM services to help clients achieve website success through online marketing strategies with the goal of driving bottom line results. These practices include local search marketing, pay-per-click (PPC) lead generation services, search engine optimization through content creation and link acquisition, analytics, conversion consulting, PR, social media marketing, online reputation management, usability consulting, search engine marketing training and education, as well as search engine marketing department formation and development.

Joe has deep roots in the tech and computer world; running his own BBS in the late 80s. Joe joined the digital marketing industry back in 1999 because he saw its potential and envisioned what search marketing would soon become. Before Joe started Tandem, he served as the CTO for one of the top SEO companies in the entire United States for seven years. Recognized as a leading expert in the search marketing industry, Joe made South Florida Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 List.

Joe has serviced over 5,000 websites ranging from small, local business owners to Fortune 100 companies like Chase, CBS Marketwatch, Wells Fargo Financial, and IBM UK.

As a Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT), Joe brings the technical aspect of SEM to small businesses and major brands alike. Joe was also a major contributor to the DMA’s search engine marketing certification program by authoring “Module 6: Fundamentals of Site Optimization”. Joe Laratro has been quoted in numerous articles including Internet Retailer, eMarketer, DMNews, eWeek, MediaPost, and Target Marketing. Joe has also been teaching Advanced Search Marketing courses for the University of San Francisco since 2006.

As one of the first 100 certified Google AdWords Professionals, a contributor to the founding of the Yahoo! Strategic Provider Program, and a certified Yahoo! Strategic Provider Ambassador, Joe Laratro continues to prove that he is on the cutting edge of industry developments. In March of 2006, he was invited, as one of only twenty professionals, to sit on the MSN AdCenter Search Council.

Joe Laratro has been very involved with the conference side of digital marketing throughout his career, teaching SEM best practices across the nation. Joe is the Lead Moderator and is on the Advisory Board of Pubcon – the world’s largest search marketing conference. He also served as the former President for South Florida Interactive Marketing Association; a South Florida organization that brings digital marketers and business owners together to network and form relationships. Tandem Interactive continues to be a steady contributor to the South Florida IMA, with employees serving on the board each year.
After nearly twenty years of experience shaping and evolving with search marketing trends and technological innovations, Joe Laratro is situated in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, keeping his home-roots intact, celebrating Tandem Interactive’s 10-year anniversary.
